Kami Speed is an authorized COBB Tuning dealer. Founded in 1999 by Trey Cobb in Rockwall, Texas — out of the back of his father's tire shop — COBB Tuning launched with one premise: the Subaru WRX needed real performance support that didn't exist yet in the US aftermarket. Twenty-five years later, COBB has become the most recognized name in turbocharged platform tuning, with the Accessport (now in its third generation, V3) standing as the world's best-selling ECU upgrade solution. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, COBB designs, engineers, manufactures, calibrates, and tests every product in-house — Accessports, hard parts, Stage Power Packages, and OTS (Off-The-Shelf) maps.
We carry the full COBB Tuning catalog: Accessport V3 for Subaru WRX/STI (all generations), Mazdaspeed3/6, Ford Mustang/Focus ST/Focus RS/F-150, Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911 Turbo/GT2 RS (with PDK flashing), VW Mk7 GTI/Golf R/Jetta GLI, Audi A3 (8V), Subaru BRZ/Toyota GR86 (via Flash Kit Pro), and Subaru Forester XT/Ascent/Outback XT/Legacy GT. Beyond the Accessport, we stock COBB intakes, downpipes and exhaust systems, intercoolers, Redline carbon fiber engine dress-up, drivetrain upgrades, Stage 1/2/2+ Power Packages, and the supporting hardware that completes a build. If you're tuning a turbocharged platform, COBB is the path of least resistance.
Yes. Kami Speed is a fully authorized COBB Tuning dealer. This matters more with COBB than with almost any other brand: COBB strictly enforces authorized dealer status, actively monitors auction sites and gray-market resellers, refuses tech support and warranty service on Accessports purchased outside their dealer network, and will not unmarry Accessports sold by unauthorized sources. Every Accessport we sell ships unmarried, in original COBB packaging, registered to your account through COBB's authorized supply chain, with full eligibility for COBB tech support, OTS map updates, firmware updates, and warranty service. If you've seen "great deals" on Accessports through eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or unfamiliar online sellers — those are typically already-married units that can never be paired to your car, or stolen/gray-market inventory with no warranty. Authorized purchasing is the only path that actually works with COBB.
Most in-stock COBB Accessports and bolt-on hard parts ship within 1 to 3 business days from US warehousing. Popular Subaru WRX/STI, Ford Mustang, Mazdaspeed, and GR86/BRZ Accessports are typically stocked. Full Stage Power Packages, complete exhaust systems, and Redline carbon fiber components may ship across multiple boxes on separate timelines. Less common platform Accessports (older Mazdaspeed, certain Porsche, VW/Audi variants) and made-to-order COBB items may have a 1 to 2 week lead time. We confirm exact availability and ETA at order placement.
COBB Tuning products carry the standard COBB manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Hard parts (intakes, exhaust, intercoolers, drivetrain) follow standard 30-day return policy on unused, uninstalled items in original packaging. Accessports require special handling: once an Accessport has been married to a vehicle, it cannot be returned for refund — it must be unmarried from the vehicle first, which requires the original vehicle to still be functional. Unmarried, unopened Accessports in original packaging can be returned within 30 days. Defective COBB products are covered through COBB's warranty program, and Kami Speed processes RMA claims directly with COBB on your behalf. Note: COBB warranty service requires authorized dealer purchase — another reason to buy from a legitimate retailer.
This is a gray area that COBB Tuning, your dealer, and your specific Subaru/Ford/Mazda/Porsche regional service department all handle differently. Federal law (the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act) prevents manufacturers from voiding your entire warranty just because you installed an aftermarket part — they must prove the modification caused the specific failure being claimed. In practice: many owners run COBB Accessports under warranty without issue, especially for unrelated claims (electrical, infotainment, suspension, etc.). However, powertrain claims (engine, turbo, transmission) on a tuned car are likely to be denied or scrutinized. The Accessport includes an "uninstall" function that returns your ECU to exactly its factory state — many owners uninstall before dealer service trips to avoid the conversation entirely. Honest recommendation: if you're tuning a car still under powertrain warranty, weigh the performance gain against the warranty risk. If you're past warranty or running a built engine, this is a non-issue. We're happy to discuss your specific situation.
